This page was created so that the community can check in at the new Woodruff Greenway Trail and post photos and comments:) The Genesee Valley Greenway goes northwest under 390 toward Scottsville. The Genesee Riverway Trail goes straight ahead along the banks of the Genesee River. All trails are paved. The Greenway travels southwest along the river, crosses Weidner Road and then curves up to the parking lot for Peach’s Restaurant. Starting in 1994 the Greenway also began to develop a world-class Water Trail, which would go on to be designated as one of the first National Water Trails in 2012.

The trail links residential neighborhoods with the Perkins Creek Nature Preserve, three city parks, the McCracken County trail system, and the riverfront. Distance markers, shelters, and benches are located along the trail. The Greenway is composed of a 3,000-mile spine route, Key West north to the Canadian border in Maine, along with a number of complementary routes offering additional scenic options in Virginia, Rhode Island to Cape Cod, and in Maine. The greenway is a work in progress, but there is a long, continuous segment (37 miles) between Rochester and Sonyea that provides an off-road experience.
